What should I pay particular attention to in a property purchase contract? +
Before signing, check the land register status, registered encumbrances, the exact object of purchase, the payment terms and any rights of withdrawal. Have the draft contract reviewed before you sign, because later changes are hard to enforce. Call us while the contract is still negotiable.
Do I have to travel to Salzburg for an initial consultation? +
No. We routinely offer initial consultations by video call or phone. The draft purchase contract, land register extract and other documents can be submitted securely online. For notarisation appointments and court we are on site.
What does reviewing or drafting a purchase contract cost? +
It depends on the purchase price, the complexity and the scope of work. We discuss the fee and billing model openly at the outset, hourly or flat rate. Escrow handling and land register registration are calculated transparently.
Why do I need attorney escrow? +
Escrow secures the settlement: the buyer pays the purchase price into the escrow account, and it is only paid out to the seller once ownership can be transferred free of encumbrances. This protects both sides.
When does ownership of the property pass to me? +
Ownership only arises with registration in the land register, not with the signature or the handover. Until then, a priority ranking or the escrow secures your position. We make sure the steps follow the right order.
